Now as I've said many times, it takes a lot to grab my attention. I love the sound of traditional or contemporary song performed using just voice and acoustic guitar. It gives it the rawness that a lot of the music within this genre needs. Storytelling cannot be intrusive and performing in one of the rawest forms possible brings out the quality of the song, of the lyrics. If that grabs my attention, as the reviewer, this is something very good indeed.

And indeed it does! The songwriting is first class, the music is well structured and together they make for a very pleasing listen. Winchester has quite a silky tone that is always well delivered and gives the lyrics life, which again says a lot about the standard of song he is performing. The album flows from start to finish, the title track being my favourite on here. The record also includes an amazing tune using electric and acoustic guitars. I shut my eyes and it literally soared through me, fantastic!

I believe this is Winchester's debut album and for that he should be commended on what he has achieved. We have had a few demo tracks through on what I presume will be the follow-up and again it really is looking to be a very solid piece of work. Check this guy out if you hear of him playing somewhere near you for I'm sure it'll be a very welcome, chilled out experience.
